Our Memories
Our Memories is your shared photo journal. Capture an ordinary moment, add a few words if you like, and watch your story grow. Each partner can take part at their own pace.
Add today's photo
Open Together from Home, then choose Our Memories. Your accounts must be linked.
For a quicker way back, open Our Memories settings and turn on Show on Home. Your photo shortcut will appear in the Together card on Home. You can choose up to two Together activities as shortcuts.
- Select Add a photo in the empty polaroid under Today, at the beginning of the timeline.
- Choose Upload photo to select a picture, or Take photo to use your camera.
- Check the preview and optionally add a caption of up to 300 characters.
- Select Save and wait for confirmation.
Your photo is optimized before it is saved. Memories keep the complete image without the profile-photo crop. If camera access is unavailable, you can still select a picture from your library. In a browser, convert HEIC photos to JPEG, PNG or WebP first.
You have one photo slot per day. ReKindle uses the same daily reset worldwide, at midnight UTC, so your local reset time may differ. A photo selected from your library belongs to the day you add it; you cannot add it to a past date.
If saving fails, use Retry. You only earn a heart and maintain your streak after the photo is successfully saved.
Your heart and personal best
Your first saved photo of the day earns 1 heart for your relationship balance. Replacing it, deleting it or adding it again does not earn another heart that day. This reward affects your relationship balance; your personal heart bank holds the hearts you can spend on extra actions.
Adding a photo on consecutive days builds your personal streak while those photos remain in your library. Removing a photo can break your current streak. Missing a full day starts your next streak at one. Your partner's participation never affects your streak or your heart.
The Memory Keeper badge opposite your photo under Today shows your longest streak ever. Open it to see your personal best. Missing a day or deleting photos never lowers an already-earned record.
Explore your story
Your story starts with Today on one continuous timeline. Your empty polaroid offers Add a photo until you save your moment. Your partner’s photo appears under the same date only when they share one; there is no empty partner card. Earlier photos follow beneath it, grouped by date and month, and load as you scroll.
Tap any photo to view it full screen. Hold a photo or open its options to read the description or download it, including photos currently shared by your partner. Only your own photos offer editing, replacement and deletion.
Pinch with two fingers to zoom, then drag to explore the enlarged photo. Double-tap or use the zoom controls to zoom or reset. Swipe between photos at normal size; arrows and thumbnails remain available while zoomed.
Choose Download photo to save the optimized ReKindle photo in its stored format (JPEG or WebP), without converting it again. Android and iOS save to your photo library; allow saving when asked. Browsers use their usual download destination. You can download your own photos and your partner’s currently shared photos. Downloaded copies remain on the device after in-app deletion or the end of sharing.
In the viewer, swipe left or right to move between photos. You can also use the arrows, the thumbnail strip or the left/right keyboard keys. Older photos load when you reach the end of the current page. Tap or press and hold a paper note to open the complete description; your own note also offers editing. Holding a note does not select its text.
Recently viewed previews may stay on your device so revisiting them uses less data. Opening the full photo needs a connection. These previews are cleared when you sign out or unlink your partner.
Optional descriptions appear on paper notes opposite their square photo previews. Your note for today sits beneath your personal-best badge when earned. Select a note to read the complete description and photo options. The viewer shows the complete image. On narrow screens or with larger text, photos, badges and notes stack. Small botanical and scrapbook illustrations appear on both sides of the earlier timeline, beside notes or below photos.
If you have not added your photo today, a floating + appears at the bottom right once the Add Photo control scrolls out of view. Select it to add today’s photo without returning to the top.
Space for your photos
Ember starts with 50 photo spaces per person and adds 5 each month, up to 200. Growth starts with your first successfully saved memory. Unused spaces carry forward. Check your current allowance by opening the page title.
Flame and Blaze include unlimited photo capacity, while keeping one new photo per day. One paid plan benefits both linked partners. See Plans and availability for the current availability of paid plans.
When your free library has five or fewer spaces left, a notification invites you to check your allowance. At capacity, adding a photo waits until more space becomes available. Your existing photos are kept; you can still view, edit, replace, download or delete them.
Deleting your own photo frees a space. Replacing it uses the same space. Private photos from previous relationships also count. If paid benefits end, existing photos stay safe, even if your library is above your free allowance.
If support grants you extra photo spaces, they are personal to your account and remain available until removed. They are added on top of your usual allowance, including its maximum. Deleting a photo lets you reuse its space. If extra spaces are removed, your existing photos are kept; you can add another once you have room again.
When your relationship changes
Unlinking stops photo sharing and hides Together from Home. Each person keeps their own photos privately. You can still download your photos through account settings.
If you reconnect with the same person, Our Memories asks whether to share your earlier photos again. Each partner makes that choice independently; choosing to keep yours private does not stop you adding new memories.
If you link with someone new, earlier relationship photos are never shown to them. Choose Delete previous photos and continue or Download previous photos and continue. You can then start collecting new memories.
Choosing to download first frees those photo spaces while the old pictures stay hidden and protected until the archive is ready. If you recently requested an archive, this download may be scheduled for the next eligible date. An existing archive is reused only if it includes all the photos being removed.
Download your photos
Open Settings → Account → Download Data and select Include my memory photos. Your usual account-data download is still available with this option unchecked.
Photo archives contain your own saved photos and their dates and captions. They contain optimized pictures rather than camera originals, and do not include your partner's contributions.
You can request a new photo archive once every 30 days. Repeated requests while one is being prepared use the same request. A notification opens My photo archives when a download is ready; you can also open that panel from account settings without a linked partner.
Large collections arrive in several ZIP files. Download every part before the displayed expiry date: archives remain available for 30 days. A normal download keeps your photos in ReKindle and does not free photo spaces.
Deleting an individual photo keeps existing archives available until their expiry date. Each archive is a snapshot of the photos and captions saved when it was generated.
Delete your photos
Use Our Memories settings to Delete all my photos. This permanently removes your own photos and captions across relationships, plus archives containing them. Your partner's contributions, your earned hearts and your Memory Keeper record are kept.
Deleting your account also removes your photos and archives. Your former partner keeps only their own contributions. Photos already downloaded by someone cannot be recalled, and an already opened photo may remain briefly accessible after sharing stops.

Partner memories and refresh
When your partner adds a new daily photo, you receive one notification. Select it to open that exact photo. Replacements and edits do not send another notice. Notifications contain no caption or picture. If the photo was deleted or is no longer shared with you, you see an unavailable message. An open draft stays open; the requested photo opens after you close it.
The timeline checks for new photos every 30 seconds while you are viewing it, and updates when a photo notification arrives while the app is open. Returning to the page, switching back to the app or reconnecting also refreshes it. Pull down from the top to refresh, using the same gesture as Notifications and Suggestions on web, iOS and Android. The content follows your finger and a round refresh arrow appears below the header. Pull far enough, then release to reload; a short pull returns without refreshing. On the web, you can also focus the refresh control with the keyboard and press Enter. Your loaded history and current photo stay in place. If refreshing fails, your existing photos remain visible.
After your usual allowance runs out, available personal hearts can cover extra messages, ideas or profiles. You can also choose to buy permanent photo spaces. See your heart bank for current prices and how it works.
