Settings

Manage your account and preferences from the Settings screen (accessible via the gear icon on the Profile tab). It is organized into three tabs: Account, Partner, and Preferences.

Account​

Personal Information​

Edit your profile details:

  • Name — Your display name visible to your partner
  • Birthday — Used for personalized suggestions and reminders
  • Gender — Helps tailor content to your relationship
  • Email — Shown for reference (read-only, linked to your login)

Tap Save after making changes.

Subscription​

View your current plan, effective allowances and reset dates under Subscription.

Data & Privacy​

  • User ID — Your unique account identifier
  • Download Your Data — Download a copy of your relationship history.
  • My photo archives — Beside Delete My Account, open a compact popup to generate photo archives, check their status and availability dates, and download ZIP parts. Closing returns to Settings. Archive-ready notifications still open the archive page.
  • Delete Account — Permanently removes your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.

Partner​

When Linked​

Once you and your partner are connected:

  • Partner Card — View your partner's name, email, and profile picture
  • Partner Badges — See which badges your partner has earned
  • Unlink — Disconnect from your partner. If your subscription depends on the link, you'll be warned before confirming.

Invitations​

  • Send an Invitation — Enter your partner's email to send a link request
  • Pending Invitation Received — Accept or decline an incoming request
  • Pending Invitation Sent — Cancel or resend your invitation

Preferences​

Notifications​

  • Push Notifications — Receive alerts on your device for partner activity, reminders, and updates
  • Email Notifications — Get email summaries and important updates

Appearance​

  • Theme — Choose between Light, Dark, or Auto (follows your device setting)

Language & Region​

  • App Language — Switch between English, Français, Español, Deutsch, and Italiano

Changing the language does not translate existing activities. Ideas in To do, personal wishes and completed history are preserved. Generate new ideas in your chosen language when you want a fresh batch.

Timezone​

Your device timezone is preselected in About you during onboarding. In Preferences → Language & Region → Timezone, search for a city or timezone and select it, then save. Your saved choice stays the same when you travel or change devices. Existing beta accounts start with America/Toronto, which also covers Montréal. This first phase saves your preference; Memories days and reminder schedules still follow their existing behavior.

Onboarding​

  • Show Help Buttons — Controls the "?" button that appears in the header of each screen

When you first visit a feature screen, a short guide explains its controls. Guides adapt to your partner connection and available content. The Home guide includes a gesture preview: you can try the composer, but nothing is sent. Closing it continues the guide and removes the temporary gesture button if you have no partner.

To bring it back, toggle "Show help buttons" on. The "?" button reappears on every screen — tap it to replay that screen's tour on demand.

Privacy​

Manage how your data is used. Tap to open the privacy panel:

  • Crash Reports — Send anonymous crash data to help us fix bugs (enabled by default)
  • Analytics — Share usage data to help improve the app (opt-in, disabled by default)
  • Personalization — Allow personalized content and suggestions (enabled by default)
  • Marketing — Receive promotional communications (opt-in, disabled by default)

Memory photos and downloads​

In Account → Download Data, select Include my memory photos to request an archive of your own pictures and captions. Your usual account-data download remains available without it. My photo archives shows preparation progress, download parts and expiry dates, even without a linked partner. See Our Memories for the 30-day archive allowance, photo space and deletion choices.

Profile photo​

From Profile, tap the edit button on your picture. Choose Upload photo or Take photo. For your avatar, drag the image or pinch to adjust a square crop; the circular outline shows the visible avatar. Zoom buttons are also available. Confirm with Use photo. If saving fails, Retry uses the same selected image. You can still remove your custom photo. Browser cameras require HTTPS or localhost and your permission; native apps use the device camera.

After your usual allowance runs out, available personal hearts can cover extra messages, ideas or profiles. You can also choose to buy permanent photo spaces. See your heart bank for current prices and how it works.
