Partner Linking

Connect with your partner to unlock ReKindle's full potential.

What is Partner Linking?

Partner linking is the process of connecting your ReKindle account with your partner's account. Once linked, you can:

  • Exchange balance tokens
  • Generate AI suggestions for each other
  • Share important dates
  • Track relationship health together
  • Access couple-focused features

Most ReKindle features require a partner connection:

Features Available Without Partner:

  4. Enter your partner's:
    • Email address (they used to sign up), OR
    • User ID (unique identifier)
  5. Optional: Add a personal message
  6. Tap "Send Request"

Unlinking is Serious

Unlinking removes your relationship data and cannot be easily undone. If you're using your partner's subscription benefits, you'll lose premium access immediately. Consider communicating with your partner before unlinking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I link with more than one partner?

A: No, ReKindle supports one active partner link at a time. You must unlink from your current partner before linking with someone new.

Q: Does my partner need a paid subscription to link?

A: No! Subscriptions are automatically shared between linked partners. If one partner has a paid subscription (Flame or Blaze), both enjoy the premium benefits. Only one of you needs to pay - see Subscription Plans for more details.

Q: What happens to our data if we unlink?

A: Shared data becomes private to each user. Token history may be retained for your records, but active features (balance tracking, suggestion generation) stop working. Additionally, each partner returns to their own subscription tier - if you were using your partner's premium benefits, you'll lose access immediately.

Q: Can I re-link with the same partner after unlinking?

A: Yes, you can send a new partner request to the same person. However, previous relationship data (balance, tokens) may not be restored.

Q: How do I find my partner's user ID?

A: Your partner can find their user ID in: Profile β†’ Account β†’ User ID (or similar location). They can share it with you directly.

Q: Can I link using just a name?

A: No, you need either your partner's email address (used for sign-up) or their unique user ID. Names alone aren't unique enough.

Q: What if my partner doesn't have ReKindle yet?

A: Your partner must create a ReKindle account first. Send them an invitation to download the app and sign up, then send a partner request.

Q: Can I link with someone who isn't my romantic partner?

A: While ReKindle is designed for romantic relationships, the technical feature works with any user. Use your discretion for your relationship type.

Q: What happens to pending requests if I send a new one?

A: You can only have one pending outgoing request at a time. Sending a new request may cancel the previous one.

Q: How long do partner requests last?

A: Partner request notifications expire after 7 days. If your partner doesn't respond, you may need to send a new request.

Q: Can I block someone from sending me requests?

A: Currently, you can decline requests, but there's no blocking feature. If you receive unwanted requests, contact support.

Q: Will unlinking notify my partner?

A: Yes, your partner receives a notification when you unlink. This is intentional for transparency.
