Authentication Information

When you sign up, we collect:

Profile Information

During onboarding, you provide:

• Gender/Sex: To tailor card recommendations
• Language preference: For localized content
• Notification preferences: Whether you want reminders and alerts

Behavioral & Preference Data

Rekindle collects:

• Card swipes: Which preferences you like, dislike, or skip
• Balance exchanges: When and how much balance you award (not the reason)
• Important dates: Anniversaries, birthdays, and events you want to track
• App usage patterns: Features you use, time spent in app (only if analytics enabled in Settings)

Device & Technical Data

• Device type, OS version, browser, IP address
• Error logs and diagnostic information for app stability
• Push notification tokens (if enabled)

Core App Functionality

• Personalization: Your swipe data trains our algorithm to suggest activities, dates, and connection opportunities tailored to your relationship
• Balance tracking: Recording balance exchanges to maintain your 0-10 relationship meter
• Suggestions: Using your preferences to recommend personalized ways to reconnect
• Important dates: Sending reminders for anniversaries and special occasions

Communication

• Sending transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• In-app notifications for balance exchanges, partner actions, and date reminders

What We Collect During Chat

• Chat messages: Your messages to the AI and AI responses
• Session data: When sessions start and end, message counts
• Extracted facts: Key information you share (partner's name, important dates mentioned) to personalize future conversations
• Conversation summaries: Compressed summaries of past conversations to maintain context

How Chat Data Is Used

• Personalization: The AI uses your partner's profile insights (from card swipes) to provide tailored advice
• Memory: Extracted facts and summaries help the AI remember important details across sessions
• Actions: With your confirmation, the AI can add important dates or create suggestions on your behalf

Partner Privacy in Chat

Chat Data Retention

Chat data is progressively compressed to protect your privacy while maintaining helpful context:

• Evergreen facts: Important details (names, dates) are retained permanently for personalization
• Daily summaries: Recent conversations are summarized daily (kept 7-30 days based on plan)
• Weekly/Monthly: Older summaries are further compressed into weekly and monthly digests
• Raw messages: Full message content is deleted after being summarized

Deleting Chat History

You can delete your entire chat history at any time through Settings. This removes all messages, summaries, and extracted facts. The AI will start fresh with no memory of past conversations.

How We Process Payments

Rekindle uses Stripe for payment processing. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, the highest security standard for payment handling.

Your Payment Security

• We never process, store, or have access to your full credit card information
• Stripe securely handles all payment data
• Your billing information is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• You can update payment methods anytime in your account settings

Encryption

All data transmitted between your device and Rekindle servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 encryption.

Access Controls

• Only authorized team members can access your data
• Access is strictly limited to what's necessary for their role
• All access is logged and monitored
• Employees sign strict confidentiality agreements

Security Practices

• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Two-factor authentication available for accounts
• Automatic session timeouts for unattended access

Access Your Data

You can request a complete copy of all data Rekindle holds about you. We'll provide it in a portable, readable format within 30 days.

Correct or Update

You can update your profile information, age, gender, and language preference at any time through Settings.

Delete Your Account

You can request account deletion at any time. When you delete your account:

• Your profile is removed immediately
• Your swipe data and behavioral history are deleted
• Partnership connections are terminated
• Some anonymized data may be retained for legal or technical reasons
• Partner's view of shared data (balance, dates) will be affected

Manage Notifications

Control which notifications you receive:

• Push notifications (Settings → Notifications)
• Email digests and marketing (Settings → Email Preferences)
• Partner request notifications

Data Portability

Request your data in a machine-readable format to use with other services or for your records.

What Your Partner Can See

When you link with your partner, they can access:

• Current balance (0-10)
• Your balance awards to them (size of gesture, timestamp)
• Important dates you've marked
• Suggested activities (if you choose to share suggestions)

What Stays Private

Your partner cannot see:

• Your complete swipe history or detailed preferences
• Your private notes or thoughts
• Your device information or IP address
• Your login history

Unlinking

If you unlink from your partner, all shared data access is immediately revoked. You retain full control of your private swipe data and preferences. The current balance is reset.

Partner Verification

Rekindle requires your partner to sign up with their own account and confirm the partnership. We never assume consentâ€"both partners must actively agree to link.

Authentication Providers

We use Google, Facebook, and Apple for authentication. When you log in, these services share your email and basic profile info with us. Review their privacy policies:

Cloud Hosting

Rekindle uses secure cloud infrastructure to host data. Our hosting provider is bound by strict data processing agreements and complies with international data protection standards.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics powered by Google to understand how people use Rekindle. Analytics are disabled by default and only activated if you explicitly enable them in Settings > Privacy.

When analytics are enabled, we collect:

• App usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
• Session duration and frequency
• Device type and operating system
• General geographic region (country-level only)

Privacy Policy

AI & Machine Learning

Rekindle's suggestion engine uses your swipe data to recommend activities and connection opportunities. This processing happens on encrypted data and follows strict privacy protocols.

Session Cookies

We use session cookies to maintain your login and user preferences. These expire when you log out.

Persistent Cookies

We use persistent cookies for:

• Remembering your login across sessions (if enabled)
• Storing your language preference
• Tracking app performance and stability

Do Not Track

We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) setting in your browser. If enabled, we limit non-essential tracking. Essential functionality tracking continues for app stability.

Disabling Cookies

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some app features may not work properly without them.

Active Accounts

As long as your account is active, we retain all your data to provide Rekindle's services.

After Account Deletion

• Immediate deletion: Profile, swipe data, important dates

• 30 days: Backup copies are purged

• Retained indefinitely: Anonymized analytics, aggregated trend data, legal records (if required)

Communication Data

Transactional emails and in-app messages are retained for 1 year for customer support and dispute resolution.
